HL7 Lab public example messages Updated 2026-09-14 Source: johnpaulett/python-hl7, tests/samples.py Commit: e41436ac6bee0d14a90b0a7035f0160819c5ae2e https://github.com/johnpaulett/python-hl7/blob/e41436ac6bee0d14a90b0a7035f0160819c5ae2e/tests/samples.py License: BSD-3-Clause; the full license is bundled as LICENSE-python-hl7.txt. The ORU example is the upstream sample_hl7 fixture. Its source comments identify it as an HL7 Normative Edition example. The upstream test fixture includes two observations. Message text is retained exactly, including the upstream date and datatype values that may be flagged by validation; these are examples, not certified conformance fixtures. The repetition example is the upstream rep_sample_hl7 fixture. Its comments cite http://wiki.medical-objects.com.au/index.php/Hl7v2_parsing The batch and file examples are sample_batch1 and sample_file1. Upstream cites: http://www.health.vic.gov.au/hdss/vinah/2006-07/appendix-a-sample-messages.pdf Documented adaptations: - ADT: extract the first MSH message from sample_batch2, without changing values. - Alternate delimiters: transliterate only delimiters in sample_hl7: pipe to *, caret to $, tilde to %, backslash to !, ampersand to @. No names, addresses, organizations, or other values were drawn from the site owner's information or conversations. The previous personalized samples have been removed from the built-in catalog. No message is fetched at runtime. The editable interface-profile example is an original generic configuration illustrating rule syntax; it contains no patient or organization details.
